Rodrick (Rod) Drury currently serves as the Vice President Global Business, Strategy & Business Development for Lockheed Martin Space a business unit of Lockheed Martin Corporation. In this role, Rod is responsible for supporting the execution of projects and delivering sustainable growth across Space’s international markets through the execution of an integrated, whole of portfolio growth strategy. Whilst based in Australia, Rod’s responsibilities cover all markets outside of continental USA. Prior to assuming this role, Rod was the Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) for Lockheed Martin Space where he was responsible for the execution and growth of Space’s business activities in ANZ region. Previously, Rod was the Regional Director Asia, Australia and New Zealand for Lockheed Martin’s Space Systems Company.
Formerly, Rod served with Boeing Defence Australia where his last role was Vice President Strategy, Business Development & Government Relations. During his tenure he gained significant experience in corporate governance, strategy, P&L and general management whilst leading teams operating across both domestic and international, defence, national security and commercial market segments.

Before transitioning to the corporate world, Rod served 20 years with the Royal Australian Air Force. As an Air Defence Officer, he served in many locations around the world and gained significant experience training and operating with many nations. Rod’s contribution to the Air Force was recognised in 1998, when he was awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross for ‘exceptional leadership, whilst Commanding Officer of No 1 Radar Surveillance Unit’.

Currently, Rod is Chair of the Australian Space Industry Leader’s Forum that assists the Australian Space Agency with the business and technological aspects of the space industry and to provide input into national civil space strategy and policy. Rod has also served on the Board of the Space Industry Association of Australia, including a term as Chair; Board of Space Environment Research Centre; Australian Federal Government’s Modern Manufacturing Initiative Space Task Force; South Australian Space Council; and the Local Organising Committees of both the International Astronautical Congress 2017 (Adelaide) and Committee of Space Research 2020 (Sydney).

Rod has been awarded a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, a Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the University of New South Wales and a Diploma in Company Directorship from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In addition to being an alumnus of the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales, Rod is honoured to be a Life Member of the Space Industry Association of Australia.
